The Bar Standards Board (BSB) is undertaking research into how solicitors find and recommend barristers, the factors that influence their choices, and how they work with barristers following a client referral. The research is being delivered independently by the Centre for Strategy and Evaluation Services (CSES) and is based on a short online survey and a series of follow-up interviews. They are especially keen to ensure strong representation from solicitors working in criminal law given the large number of barristers practising in this area and the frequency of referrals.
Participation will involve completing an anonymous online survey (link below) and will take no longer than 15 minutes. Participating will help ensure the research reflects the experiences and views of solicitors practising in criminal law and help inform the BSB’s future work around transparency, choice and client engagement within legal services.
