Professional users’ court and tribunal access scheme – a membership scheme permitting enhanced access through security in HMCTS buildings for registered holders with the appropriate scheme ID.
Membership of the scheme is subject to the conditions of the scheme here. To be eligible for the scheme you must either:
- Be a paid up member of the CLSA for the relevant subscription year (your card will have an expiry date of 1st December each year and you will be required to renew annually. A reminder will be sent to you by the email address registered on your application form)
- Be a solicitor with a valid practising certificate who has not for example been removed from the Roll by the SRA.
The CLSA will verify your eligibility and will review on an ongoing basis your continued eligibility. In the event that you cease to be eligible your card will be deactivated. We will also be required to share your details – [name, firm, tel: number, email address, practicing certificate, photograph and professional status] with HMCtS to allow you to be on the Scheme database maintained on behalf of HMCtS.
Your card is also issued by the Criminal Law Solicitors’ Association (CLSA) with the approval of the Legal Aid Agency. In accordance with the terms of the Standard Crime Contract 2017 Specification 9.46, all staff undertaking Police Station Duty Solicitor work must carry an identification card as specified by the Legal Aid Agency. The cards have the holders photograph digitally imprinted and must be renewed annually for added security.
