With effect from Tuesday 24 March 2020 GM Magistrates’ Courts will only be dealing with defendants in custody (including custody trials), videolinks, overnight cases, DVPOs and POCAs. There will be 4 courts sitting at Manchester Magistrates’ Court and 1 at each of the outer courts, though additional may need to be set up to allow for custody trials. We are in the process of trying to notify as my defendants as possible about their cases being adjourned tomorrow but it is likely there will still be a number we are unable to make contact with and they will be notified on arrive at court. Cases with be adjourned on a 12 week rolling basis from the day they are listed and people on bail will remain on bail.
