Pre-Charge Bail Extension Application Forms

Pre-Charge Bail Extension Application Forms The Criminal Procedure Rule Committee has approved new versions of the pre-charge bail extension application forms for use in the case of persons arrested for a suspected offence on or after 28 October 2022. These are:

• Application for extension of pre-charge bail, CrimPR 14.19: arrest on or after 28 October 2022

• Response to application for extension of pre-charge bail, CrimPR 14.19: arrest on or after 28 October 2022

The forms are available for use by applicants and respondents from Monday 19 May 2025 here:

There is a transitional period lasting until Friday 31 October 2025, during which HM Courts and Tribunals’ Service (HMCTS) will continue to accept the old versions of the forms alongside the new versions

From Monday 3 November 2025 HMCTS will return applications received on the old versions of these two forms.

The equivalent application forms for use in the case of persons arrested for a suspected offence before 28 October 2022 are not affected by the revisions.
